
Men's Tennis Opens Spring With Win Over Temple

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team opened its spring season with a 4-1 victory over the Temple Owls Saturday at the Thalhimer Tennis Center located on VCU's campus.
The top-three Spiders recorded wins over the Owls. Ethan Dunbar easily defeated Heman Vasconez, 6-1, 6-3, at the top spot, while younger brother Jacob Dunbar slid past Santiago Canete, 6-4, 6-1, on the next court over.
Alex Hahn secured the final singles points on court three as he rallied back for a 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 win over Filip Stipcic.
Doubles partners Dylan Trent and Jonathan Quenard recorded the doubles point for the Spiders with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Marquart/Belkssir.
Richmond also squared up against conference foe VCU, but fell 5-0 to conclude to day.
The Spiders will be back in action Saturday, Jan. 25 when they travel to Old Dominion at 10 a.m.
