
Women's Tennis Downs Conference Foe Temple, 5-2

The Richmond women's tennis team picked up a big victory over conference foe Temple, 5-2, Friday afternoon in Richmond, Va.
The Spiders swept the doubles point, with No. 1 Erin Clark/Helen Cunningham def. Anastasia Rukavyschnkova, 8-2. Kelly Tidwell and Isabel Arana downed Theresea Stangl and May Johnson, 8-2.
"I was happy with our energy after a tough loss on Wednesday," said head coach Mark Wesselink. "This is a resilient team that is managing the challenges of a long season well. Our goal is to gain momentum for A-10's and pick up wins where we can. We're starting to play with more confidence, especially in doubles."
Three Spiders picked up wins in the singles category, with A-10 Player of the Week Erin Clark defeating Temple's No. 1 Josephine Bergman 6-3, 6-2.
The Spiders host ODU Sunday at 1 p.m.
