UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Tribe Tennis Too Much For Spiders Richmond's men's tennis team opened their Spring 2008 season at William and Mary.
No. 43 William and Mary was too strong for the Spiders in their first match of the Spring 2008 schedule. The Tribe swept the Spiders 7-0 Friday, January 18. Richmond's no. 1 player Doug Banker lost to the Tribe's Alex Cojanu.
Senior, Drew Crank made his tennis debut as Richmond's no. 6 player. Crank played hard but fell to William and Mary's Varun Pandit 7-6, 6-4.
The Spiders continue play this weekend at VCU's "Four Plus One" tournament. Matches will be played January 19 and 20 at VCU's downtown Richmond campus.
