PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Richmond women's tennis team was edged 4-3 on Saturday afternoon in it's A-10 opener with the Temple Owls. Richmond sophomore Pamela Duran and senior Robin Carter led the Spiders in singles action, posting wins at the No. 1 and 2 spots, respectively.
Although Beatrice Grasu and Carter were unable to pull out a win at first doubles, the Vosters/Duran duo and Zivanovic/Schneider pair notched wins at the No. 2 and 3 spots to clinch the doubles point for Richmond.
In singles action, Duran and Carter were the only Spiders to earn wins in the afternoon contest, the second-straight for Richmond which had just played a hard-fought match with Penn the previous afternoon.
The Spiders (0-3, 0-1 in A-10) continue action on Friday, February 9 at 2:30 p.m. at Old Dominion.
