
Men's Tennis Falls To Longwood, 5-2

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to the Longwood Lancers on Wednesday afternoon in Richmond, Va. Junior Chris Louis earned wins in both singles and doubles action and senior Charlie Seltzer added a singles win as the Spiders fell to 5-9 overall (1-1 in A-10 play).
In doubles action, Louis and David Berry paired up for a dominating 8-2 win at the no. 3 spot; however, Spider duos Bobby McNally/Matt Stillwagon and Doug Banker/Michael Sommer came up short in close, hard-fought battles as Longwood secured the doubles point.
In singles action, Longwood won straight-set victories at the no. 1, 2 and 5 spots, in addition to winning at fourth singles, while Louis took a win over Brandon Lindsley at third singles and Charlie Seltzer earned his first victory of the spring, winning at sixth singles.
The Spiders will return to the court tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at James Madison.
