
Men's Tennis Concludes Regular Season With A Win Over Georgetown

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's tennis team concluded its regular season with a 5-2 victory over Georgetown (4-8) on Saturday afternoon on the University of Richmond campus. Doug Banker, Bobby McNally, Sami Belakhlef, Chris Louis, and Michael Sommer all picked up wins in singles action as the Spiders improved to 12-13 overall and 0-2 in Atlantic 10 play.
McNally and Matt Stillwagon paired up at No. 1 doubles, but were unable to pull out a victory over Conrad and Walsh, while Brett Waikart and Banker earned an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles over Georgetown's Tywang and Paris. Louis and Sommer were unable to win at No. 3 doubles and Georgetown took a 1-0 advantage going into singles play.
In singles action, the Spiders ended with a 5-1 advantage after sweeping all spots, except for the No. 5 position. Richmond's Banker earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles over Paris, while McNally topped Conrad, 7-5, 6-3 at second singles. Richmond's Belakhlef, Louis, and Sommer each followed with wins at the No. 3, 4, and 6 spots, respectively, and Richmond ended the match with a 5-2 advantage.
