
Women's Tennis Falls to #31 Virginia

Charlottesville, Va. -- The University of Richmond women's tennis team fell to 31st-ranked University of Virginia, 6-1, Friday afternoon at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va. The Spiders fall to 1-3 on the season with the loss, while the Cavaliers improve to 2-1.
The Cavaliers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point. Freshman Emily Applegate (Charleston, S.C.) tallied the Spiders lone point when she defeated Virginia's Shannon Stough at the number five spot.
Richmond returns to the courts on Saturday, January 31 when they play host to George Washington at 5 p.m.
