
Men's Tennis Opens Spring Season with a Victory

Washington, D.C. - The University of Richmond men's tennis team defeated George Washington University, 4-3, in its season opener Sunday evening in Washington, D.C.
The match began with Richmond clinching the doubles point. In singles action, junior Matthew Cabana (Charlotte, N.C.) came back from losing the first set to win in three sets and junior Jeppy Moss (Fredericksburg, Va.) soundly defeated his opponent in straight sets. The Spiders then dropped matches at the one, two and five spots, which evened the score at three. Freshman Matt Stillwagon (Winchester, Va.) clinched the match for the Spiders when he defeated senior Brett Warner in the second set tie-breaker.
The Spiders return to action on Friday, January 23 when they travel to face Virginia Tech at 6 p.m.
