
Men's Tennis Defeats George Washington, 5-2

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's tennis team defeated Atlantic 10 opponent George Washington University 5-2 this afternoon at the UR Tennis Complex. The Spiders, winning their fourth consecutive match, improve to 12-10 and earn a #1 seed in the next weekend's conference championships.
The Spiders won two doubles matches in convincing fashion to earn the duos point and continued the success in singles action, winning four of the six matches. Both Dan Scrafford (Centreville, Va.) and Jeppy Moss (Fredericksburg, Va.) earned wins for the Spiders in straight sets and sophomore Matt Cabana (Plantation, Fl.) clinched the match with his 6-3, 6-4 win at the #3 slot. At the #1 position, junior David Donn (East Longmeadow, Mass.) recorded a 7-5 win in the first match but sprained his ankle during the second and was unable to come back in the tie-breaker.
Richmond hosts East Carolina on Friday, April 4 at 2:30 p.m. This is the Spiders final home match of the year.
