UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's tennis team defeated George Mason University 7-0 this afternoon at the UR Tennis Complex. The Spiders improve to 8-9 on the season.
Due to impending weather, the contest opened with singles matches and Richmond took all but one victory in straight sets. In the #1 position, David Donn (East Longmeadow, Mass.) lost the first set 4-6, but came back to win both the second and tie-breaker to earn the point.
Richmond's #1 duo did not play today, allowing its two freshman to play at the #3 spot. Ryan Goldsmith (Dallas, Texas) and Eric Hage (Dallas, Texas) paired to record an 8-4 win over their opponents.
The Spiders are back in action tomorrow at the UR Tennis Complex when they host Old Dominion at 2:30 p.m.
