
Men's Tennis Slips Past Elon, 4-3

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's tennis team defeated Elon University Friday afternoon, 4-3. Richmond claimed the doubles point, and then the two teams split the singles matches.
The Spiders lost the top two singles matches, but won at the No. 3 spot as sophomore Niki Doll (Heidelberg, Germany) edged Justin Roberson, 6-2, 5-7, 7-5. Freshmen Derek Schwandt (Kennett Square, Pa.) and Jeppy Moss (Fredericksburg, Va.) also won for the Spiders, at the No.s 5 and 6 positions, respectively. Both won in straight sets. Doll and freshman Matthew Cabana (Plantation, Fla.) teamed to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-5, while Moss and sophomore David Donn (East Longmeadow, Mass.) won at the No. 3 spot, 8-3.
The victory improves Richmond's record to 9-6.
