
Men's Tennis Falls to Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Spiders split in their series north this weekend, falling to Navy 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Big Vanilla Racquet Club. The Spiders' record falls to 3-4 with the loss.
The Mids used a 4-2 mark in singles play to defeat the Spiders, as well as winning the lone doubles match in the 6-1 format. Richmond won its matches at the No. 4 and No. 6 spots. Freshman Matt Cabana (Plantation, Fla.) posted a 6-3, 6-3 win while fellow classmate Jeppy Moss (Fredericksburg, Va.) deafeated Davy Lee 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 7-6 (10-7). At No. 1 singles, Richmond sophomore David Donn (East Longmeadow, Mass) dropped in three sets, 7-5, 6-7 (9-7), 6-3. Todd Parker (Richmond, Va.) fell in straight sets at the No. 2 slot.
The Mids captured the doubles point sweeping all three matches. The Spiders continue a grueling road schedule with three straight road trips. On February 15 (Friday), Richmond heads to Philadelphia to take on conference foe Temple. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
