Gravius is the primary contact for football and men’s lacrosse and has worked with the men's and women's cross country, women's track and field, women's lacrosse, and women's swimming and diving teams during his time with the Spiders. In his role, he also manages Richmond's student game day workers, handling duties including scheduling and time approval, and is responsible for the ideation and creation of the department's graphics packages.
Gravius joined the Spiders after a semester-long stint as the Communications Coordinator at Cornell University. While in Ithaca, Gravius covered eight of the Big Red’s 37 varsity sports through the teams’ transition back into competition following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prior to Cornell, Gravius spent two years as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant at South Dakota State University. There, he spent a majority of his time promoting the Jackrabbits’ cross country and track and field teams. In his time at State, Gravius covered the careers of 19 individual conference champions, two Summit League title-winning teams, and a Second Team indoor track and field All-American. He also served as the primary media contact for equestrian and men’s and women’s swimming and diving while also handling game day statistic keeping and social media for football, men’s and women’s basketball and women’s soccer.
No stranger to the Atlantic 10 Conference, Gravius completed his undergraduate work at St. Bonaventure University in 2019 where he majored in journalism, minored in English, and was a member of the Bonnies cross country and track team. He completed his Master’s in Sport and Recreation Administration at South Dakota State University in May of 2021.
Outside of his duties at UR, Gravius is an adjunct instructor in VCU's Richard T. Robertson School of Communication, is a freelance graphic designer, and serves as an assistant coach for the varsity boy's lacrosse team at Mills E. Godwin High School.
A native of Derby, N.Y., Gravius currently resides in Richmond.
