Lightning Suspends Round 2 of Rod Myers Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. — Round 2 of the Rod Myers Invitational was suspended due to lightning Monday afternoon at the Duke University Golf Course. Play was suspended with most golfers about halfway through the second round and did not resume. The second round will resume at 9:30 AM Tuesday, and the event will be shortened to 36 holes due to Tuesday's forecast.
At the moment, the Spiders are 12th on the 13-team leaderboard at 4-over par, one stroke behind a trio of teams tied for 9th place (Princeton, Virginia Tech, Wofford). A pair of Richmond seniors reside in the top 30 on the individual leaderboard: Quin Polin is tied for 16th at 2-under par, and Jack LaPiana is tied for 27th at even par.
The Spiders combined for a team score 292 (4-over) in Round 1 Monday morning, with both Polin and LaPiana shooting 1-under 71s.
