Landry, Markovic and Miller complete Kresge’s staff ahead of first season at Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond women's basketball head coach Alisa Kresge announced the additions of Shenita Landry and Nevena Marković as assistant coaches and Logan Miller as video coordinator Friday, rounding out her staff ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Landry, Marković and Miller join associate head coaches Will Lanier and Sacha Santimano and assistant coach/chief of staff Sam Brenner for Kresge's first season at the helm of the Spiders.
Landry arrives at Richmond after spending the past two seasons on staff at Temple, where she returned to her alma mater in May 2023 as director of player personnel before being elevated to assistant coach/director of player personnel. During her time on staff, the Owls captured the 2023-24 American Athletic Conference regular-season title and the 2024-25 Big 5 Championship.
"Shenita is someone I have had the opportunity to see firsthand at her craft and someone I greatly respect," Kresge said. "The way she invests in people, builds relationships and approaches the game is truly special. She brings a wealth of experience as both a player and coach, a relentless work ethic and a genuine passion for helping and challenging student-athletes to grow on and off the court. Her ability to connect with players, develop talent and contribute to a winning culture makes her a tremendous addition to our staff. I couldn't be more excited to welcome Shenita and her family to Richmond."
Landry faced the Spiders in each of the past two seasons while on staff at Temple, including Richmond's 2024-25 season opener on Nov. 4 and a matchup during the 2025-26 campaign on Nov. 18. Both games resulted in Richmond victories.
Before returning to Temple, Landry spent the 2022-23 season as director of basketball operations at Vermont under Kresge, helping the Catamounts win the America East Championship and earn an NCAA Tournament bid. Vermont posted a 17-game winning streak that season, with Landry assisting in gameday operations, opponent scouting, film breakdown and team travel.
Landry brings strong Atlantic 10 ties back to Richmond after a standout playing career at Temple from 2005-09. A Milwaukee native, Landry appeared in all 130 games during her four-year career and helped lead the Owls to four NCAA Tournament appearances. Playing three seasons under then-head coach Dawn Staley, Landry was part of teams that won back-to-back Atlantic 10 tournament titles in 2005 and 2006.
As a senior in 2008-09, Landry earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10, Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team, Atlantic 10 Most Improved Player, Big 5 Most Improved Player and First Team All-Big 5 honors. She finished her Temple career fifth in program history in field goal percentage at 49.8%, eighth in career blocks with 103 and 12th in career rebounds with 747.
Following her collegiate career, Landry played professionally for 13 seasons across seven countries, competing in Australia, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary and Lithuania. She won the French LF2 Championship and earned numerous individual honors throughout her professional career. Landry earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from Temple and her master's degree in accounting from Herzing University in 2014.
Marković joins the Spiders after spending the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach at Butler. Before arriving at Butler, she spent two seasons as an assistant coach and international recruiting coordinator at Vermont, where she helped the Catamounts to one of the most successful stretches in program history.
"Nevena brings a strong blend of elite collegiate and international playing experience, along with proven coaching success, to our program," Kresge said. "She has consistently demonstrated excellence, leadership and a strong work ethic throughout her career. Her impact at Vermont helped drive championship success, NCAA Tournament qualification and historic winning streaks. Beyond the wins, she brings a nurturing presence that fosters strong relationships with student-athletes while consistently holding them to a high standard. We are excited to welcome Nevena and her family to Richmond."
At Vermont, Marković helped guide the Catamounts to their first America East regular-season championship since 2001-02 and their first America East Tournament title since 2009-10. The tournament championship sent Vermont to its first NCAA Tournament since 2010.
During the 2022-23 season, Vermont put together a 17-game winning streak from Jan. 4 to March 10, marking the program's longest winning streak since 2001-02. The Catamounts won 25 games in each of Marković's two seasons on staff and advanced to the WNIT Fab 4 in 2023-24.
Prior to Vermont, Marković served as an assistant coach at St. Francis during the 2017-18 season. She also worked as a skills coach in Plainfield, Illinois, and as a program coordinator and assistant coach with the Illinois Rockets U17 and U14 programs.
Marković played collegiately at IU Indy, formerly IUPUI, where she was the first recruit signed by head coach Austin Parkinson.
