06/18/2026 | Women's Basketball
RICHMOND, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the women's basketball pairings for the Spiders ahead of the 2026-27 season on Thursday. Richmond will play an 18-game conference schedule that includes home-and-away matchups with Duquesne, Davidson, VCU, Saint Joseph's and St. Bonaventure.
Richmond will play host to Saint Louis, Dayton, George Mason and George Washington inside the Robins Center. Road-only matchups include trips to Loyola Chicago, La Salle, Fordham and at defending A-10 champion Rhode Island.
The 2026-27 season marks a new chapter for the Spiders under first-year head coach Alisa Kresge, who was named the 18th head coach in program history this spring. Kresge arrived at Richmond following eight seasons as head coach at Vermont, where she led the Catamounts to five consecutive 20-win seasons and three NCAA Tournament appearances.
Kresge will lead a new-look roster and staff into the season as Richmond looks to build on one of the most successful stretches in program history. The Spiders enter 2026-27 following three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, the program's second at-large bid and a fourth straight 20-win campaign.
Richmond returns All-Conference selection Ally Sweeney, in addition to Ava Persichetti, Rayne Wright, Aneisha Scott, Shaneka Campbell and Payton Richard. The Spiders also welcome a group of newcomers, including Duquesne transfer Harriet Ford, and freshmen Josie Fontana, Kate Schindler, Bridget Rifenburg, Emma Schoen, Alexandra Vandiver and Hanna Tjernberg.
Kresge's first Richmond staff features associate head coaches Will Lanier and Sacha Santimano, assistant coaches Shenita Landry and Nevena Marković, assistant coach/chief of staff Sam Brenner and video coordinator Logan Miller.
