CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Richmond's upperclassmen stepped up in the second round of the 54-hole NCAA Regionals Tuesday at Finley Golf Club as junior Maya Beasley (+2) and seniors Hannah Lydic and Olivia Wilkie (both +4) registered Richmond's three lowest score. Freshman Addie Doroh added a 7-over 77 for the final team score as Richmond combined to shoot 17-over par (297), a 10-shot improvement from Round 1. The Spiders remain in 11th place on the team leaderboard at 44-over par (604).
Beasley played her first 11 holes in 1-under par and held on to shoot 72 (+2), 10 shots better than her round on Monday. She moved seven spots up the individual leaderboard into a tie for 57th at 14-over par (154).
"I would say I had way more confidence out there today and let a lot of the expectations loose," said Beasley after the round.
Wilkie shaved 12 shots off her Round 1 score with a 4-over 74 Tuesday. She helped offset seven bogeys with three birdies and moved up into 63rd place at 20-over par (160).
"I do think the conditions for scoring were a bit easier today, so that definitely helped," said Wilkie. "I also had a better understanding of the course. Hannah and I didn't get to play a practice round, so I definitely felt more comfortable out there today after seeing the course yesterday."
Lydic's 4-over 74 kept her as the top Spider in the individual leaderboard. She's tied for 36 at 7-over par (147). Lydic was Richmond's top finisher at both the 2023 Raleigh Regional and the 2025 Charlottesville Regional, when she recorded the first top-30 individual finish at an NCAA Regional in program history.
Doroh is tied for 50th at 11-over par (151), while sophomore Katie Magner is tied for 61st at 16-over par (156) after her second straight 78 (+8) Tuesday.
Richmond's current 11th-place standing on the leaderboard would equal its best finish at an NCAA Regional from last year in Charlottesville. If the Spiders can move one spot up the standings in Wednesday's final round, Richmond will record its first top-10 finish in an NCAA Regional in program history.
Richmond's Round 3 will begin at 8:55 AM Wednesday on the 10th tee.
