Spiders Surge Past Hampton to Extend Win Streak to Five

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team closed out its home slate in dominant fashion, earning a 4-0 victory over Hampton Saturday afternoon at the Westhampton Tennis Complex. With the win, the Spiders improve to 9-9 overall and extend their winning streak to five matches while Hampton falls to 9-9.

How It Happened
Richmond secured the doubles point quickly, taking two courts including a forfeit to jump in front. Daniela O'Leary and Amy Walsh were awarded a win on court three by forfeit to put the Spiders on the board, before Lara Bakhaya and Lucy Webber followed with a decisive 6-0 victory over Chelsea Chakanyuka and Serena Bryan on court one to clinch the point.

In singles play, Richmond continued its momentum with three straight decisions to secure the sweep. Daniela O'Leary extended the lead to 2-0 with a win by forfeit on court six. Elizabeth Novak followed on court one with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 victory over Tanya Midzi, pushing the advantage to 3-0.

Abby Lee sealed the match for the Spiders on court two, earning a 6-1, 6-3 decision against Serena Bryan to secure the 4-0 result and Richmond's fifth-straight win.
