Saint Joseph's, 8-9 on the season and 3-0 in conference action, scored in the first inning on a sacrifice fly, connecting a walk and a double. The Hawks added two more runs in the third on a two-run double, taking advantage of a base hit and a Spider miscue.
Angel Santiago-Cruz (1-1) took the loss, making it into the third inning for the Spiders. Santiago-Cruz allowed three runs, one earned, on two hits, a walk, a hit batter and two strikeouts in two and a third of an inning of work.
