COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at Maryland on Saturday afternoon at JTCC. The loss moves the Spiders to 1-4 on the spring season, while the Terrapins improved to 4-0.

How It Happened
Maryland claimed the opening point by earning wins on courts three and one in doubles action. Aida Eissa and Diya Challa defeated Beatriz Guerra and Abby Lee 6-3 on court three before Ema Kovacevic and Emma Ghirardato secured the point with a 6-3 victory over Sofia Barbulescu and Elizabeth Novak at the top position. The No. 2 doubles match between Lainey O'Neil and Lucy Webber and Maryland's Oliwia Orlinska and Magdalena Baniak went unfinished.

In singles, the Terrapins extended their lead with straight-set victories on courts three and two. Magdalena Baniak defeated Beatriz Guerra 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, followed by Emma Ghirardato's 6-1, 6-2 win over Elizabeth Novak on court two.

Maryland clinched the match with wins on courts six and four. Aida Eissa topped Lainey O'Neil 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6, and Lucia Donnelly earned a 6-2, 7-5 victory against Abby Lee at No. 4. Oliwia Orlinska added a 6-2, 6-2 win over Sofia Barbulescu at the top spot, while the closest contest of the afternoon came on court five where Ema Kovacevic edged Lucy Webber 6-1, 7-6 (13-11).
