Donohoe Sets New School Record, Spiders See Multiple First-Place Finishes

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The University of Richmond women's track and field team competed in its first split-meet weekend of the indoor season, wrapping up action Saturday at the Penn State National Open. Highlighting the day was Caroline Donohoe, who set a new school record in the 600 meter.

Donohoe broke Rachel Helbling's 2022 record in the 600 meter with a personal-best time of 1:30.94. Ashley Bolesh finished 14th with a personal-best time of 1:35.51, moving to No. 10 on the program's all-time list.

In the 1,000 meter, Brooke Reif finished fifth with a personal-best time of 2:53.92. In the 3,000 meter, Phoebe Rubio placed fourth with a personal-best time of 9:51.43. In the 3,000 meter invite section, Hallie Muniz and Mollie Fenn both recorded personal-best performances. Muniz finished 17th at 9:34.87, while Fenn placed 21st at 9:42.25. Their marks move them to No. 6 and No. 9, respectively, on the program's all-time list.

FAIRFAX, Va. – Richmond also competed Saturday at the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason University. The Spiders posted three wins and multiple top-10 finishes.

Sydney Phillips won the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 11.84 meters, which ranks No. 6 on the program's all-time list. Phillips also recorded a personal-best mark in the long jump, finishing fifth at 5.34 meters.

In the 60 meter prelims, Alexandra Cahill finished 11th with a personal-best time of 7.97. Cahill also turned in a personal-best time of 9.11 in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing fourth overall and moving to No. 7 on the program's all-time list.

In the 200 meters, Nina Lavelle and Morgan Elliott both finished in the top 10. Lavelle placed sixth at 26.40, while Elliott finished eighth at 26.69. Elliott went on to win the 400 meter with a time of 59.20. Aaleyah Foster claimed first place in the 500 meter, crossing the line in 1:18.34.
In the 1,000 meter, Ava LoVuolo finished fourth with a time of 3:03.23. Mia Paolino placed second in the mile, finishing in 5:08.71.

Three Spiders finished in the top 10 of the 3,000 meter. Charlotte Hudson placed second with a personal-best time of 10:08.24, Addie Cohen finished fourth with a personal-best time of 10:11.27 and Lily Strebel placed sixth at 10:24.29. Samantha Lorey also recorded a personal-best time of 10:55.64, finishing 11th.

Richmond finished third in the distance mixed relay. LoVuolo, Elliott, Foster and Paolino combined for a time of 12:30.62, setting a new DI program mark that ranks No. 61 nationally.

Three members of the men's cross country team competed unattached and finished in the top eight. Eric Scully placed fourth with a time of 2:31.95, Joshua Gray finished sixth at 2:34.23 and Carter Bruns rounded out the group with an eighth-place finish at 2:36.57.

The Spiders return to action at the VMI Winter Relays on Feb. 6-7 and the ECAC/I4CA Championships on Feb. 7-8.
