Beasley Nabs Season's Final A-10 Women's Golfer of the Week Award

RICHMOND, Va. — Spiders sophomore Maya Beasley has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. Beasley, from Pinehurst, N.C., was honored for her 11th-place finish at last week's UMD Terp Invitational in College Park, Md.
After opening with a 4-over 76 in Round 1 of the 54-hole event, Beasley carded a 1-under 71 in Round 2 and an even-par 72 in Round 3 to finish the event at 3-over par, tied for 11th in the field of 83. It was her team-leading seventh top-20 finish this season, all of which have come in Richmond's last seven events, a stretch that dates back to the Evie Odom Invitational in October.
This is Beasley's first weekly Atlantic 10 honor. She joins juniors Hannah Lydic and Olivia Wilkie as Spiders to win A-10 Golfer of the Week this season.
Beasley and the Spiders will begin play in the inaugural Atlantic 10 Women's Golf Championship Thursday at Evermore Resort in Orlando, Fla., with live scoring available here.
