
Spiders Tied for Second at ECAC Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Richmond's women's track and field team tied for second at the ECAC Indoor Championships with 79 points. Members of the men's cross country team finished 19th with 13 points at the IC4A Indoor Championships.
Sophomore Morgan Elliott was the 500-meter champion with a personal-best time of 1:14.11. Her mark moves her to sixth on Richmond's all-time indoor list.
Senior Dylan Miller was the 1k champion with a personal-best time of 2:49.94. Her mark places her 10th on Richmond's all-time indoor list.
In the men's 1k final, junior Cooper Groat finished fourth with a personal-best time of 2:24.97.
In the 60-meter final, sophomore Gabrielle Cummings finished ninth with a time of 7.97.
In the 200 meters, Cummings finished sixth with a personal-best time of 24.62. Sophomore Blaiklyn Clayton finished 12th with a time of 25.00.
In the mile, junior Phoebe Rubio led the Spiders and placed third with a personal-best time of 4:52.88. Freshman Hallie Muniz finished fifth with a personal-best time of 4:53.27, and junior Brooke Reif finished ninth with a time of 5:04.23.
In the 400 meters, seniors Elke Van der Westhuizen and Virginia Beringer finished in the top five. Van der Westhuizen finished fourth with a personal-best time of 54.65, and Beringer finished fifth with a time of 54.68.
Sophomore Ashley Bolesh finished seventh in the 1k with a personal-best time of 2:57.19.
Freshman Molly Flanagan led Richmond in the 800 meters, finishing second with a personal-best time of 2:09.64. Senior Morgan Lyons finished third with a time of 2:09.93. Flanagan now sits ninth on Richmond's all-time list, and Lyons now sits 10th on Richmond's all-time list.
In the 3k, junior Mollie Fenn finished sixth with a personal-best time of 9:48.19.
The Spiders are back in action to kick off the outdoor season on March 21 for Senior Day at the Fred Hardy Invitational.
