
Nwakalor Honored on Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its 2024-25 Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic teams Tuesday. One of the 10 women's swimming and diving student-athletes honored was sophomore Melissa Nwakalor.

Individuals were selected for the honor roll based on their academic and athletic achievements, including performances at the 2025 A-10 Championship. To be nominated, student-athletes had to be at least a sophomore and maintain a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).

Nwakalor has had a record-breaking season so far. After breaking the school record last season, she has broken her own record twice, setting the Atlantic 10 record in the 50 free with a time of 21.98. Nwakalor also set a new school record in the 100 free with a time of 49.45.

At the Atlantic 10 Championships, Nwakalor finished with four gold medals, a silver medal and a bronze medal. In addition to breaking two records in individual events, Nwakalor also contributed to setting the new school record in the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay.
