Condon, Muniz, Rubio and Stepp Earn Atlantic 10 Conference Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond's cross country team had four Spiders named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference accolades on Tuesday evening. Two Spiders were named A-10 All-Academic and two freshmen were named A-10 All-Rookie.Â

A Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major, senior Phoebe Rubio earned all-academic honors after her performance at the A-10 Cross Country Championships. At the championships, she recorded a personal-best time of 21:50.1 to place 25th. During the season, Rubio competed in four races, finishing in the top 20 in each.Â

A pre-business major, sophomore Hallie Muniz also earned all-academic honors after leading the Spiders at the Atlantic 10 Championships placing sixth with a time of 21:19.0. Muniz also earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors. She led Richmond in four regular-season races and recorded three personal-best times during the season in the 4K, 5K and 6K.Â

Two freshmen on the men's and women's team had notable seasons, Andy Condon and Alyson Stepp.Â

Andy Condon finished 40th out of 128 participants at the Atlantic 10 Championships at 24:56.9 and was the sixth fastest freshmen finisher. Condon's season best finish was at the Chanticleer Challenge, placing second with a personal best time of 23:46.7 to help secure the win for the Spiders

Alyson Stepp finished 42nd out of 126 participants at the Atlantic 10 Championships at 22:16.1 and was the fifth fastest freshmen finisher. Stepp's best finish of the season was at the Princeton Fall Classic, finishing 128th place with a personal best time at 21:49.8.Â
