
#17 Spiders Dominate From Start To Finish To Excel Past Bucknell Tuesday

Lewisburg, Pa. – The University of Richmond men's lacrosse team played lockdown defense and used efficient shooting to power past Bucknell on the road Tuesday, 17-5.
Richmond (5-2) connected on 17 of its 31 shots and added 11 assists as 15 Spiders recorded points and every available field player saw action as the team extended its win streak to four games.
The Spiders offense jumped to an early five-goal lead by the 3:05 mark of the first quarter and would go on to outscore the Bison (2-5) 4-1 to close out the first half. From there, Richmond continued to dominate on both ends of the field, outscoring the Bison 8-4 through the final two frames to pull away with the win.
The Spiders defense held Bucknell to sporadic goals and recorded eight caused turnovers as Zach Vigue earned the win with eight saves. Connor Knight finished out the game's final 10:17 and made four stops.
Luke Grayum and Dalton Young recorded five points each with Grayum scoring four goals and dishing out an assist while Young tallied three scores and two helpers. Lance Madonna (assist) and Lucas Littlejohn added two goals each, while Aidan O'Neil (assist), Jake Kapp (assist), Joe Sheridan, Joe Gooley and Max Merklinger each added goals. Jeff Nugent, Charlie Packard, Will Tazewell and Jack Ricciardi chipped in assists and Jackson Strickland recorded his first collegiate points with an assist as well.
Jared Chenoy went 6-for-11 at the face off dot while Anthony DiCenso went 5-for-10 and Strickland went 2-for-5.
Richmond was 21-of-24 on clears while Bucknell went 13-of-19. The Spiders killed its two man-down situations while going 2-4 on man-up opportunities.
Richmond returns home from its road swing Saturday when it hosts No. 4 Duke Saturday at Robins Stadium. Game time is set for 1:00.
