Spiders Compete Against Penn & ECU

RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond women's swimming and diving team closed out day two of the Penn & ECU Dual Meet today at SwimRVA. The Spiders fell to East Carolina 204-95 and fell to Penn 210-87.Â

Richmond took first in two events:
With Nwakalor's time in the 50 free, she made a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championship (NIC) B standard in the pool today.Â

The freestyle events saw success as Natalie Stuart placed fourth and swam a season best (10:36.97) in the 1000 and Katie Chignell finished behind in fifth (10:41.24). In the 200, Lena Amare finished fourth (1:53.52). In the 100, Nwakalor finished fourth (52.22). Erin Budde finished with a new season best placing sixth (5:13.51) in the 500.Â

In the 100 back, Caroline Weldon finished fourth (57.82).Â

Primiano added a silver finish (1:04.92) with a new season best in the 100 breast. Teammate Laura Davis also finished with a season best finishing sixth (2:25.12) in the 200 breast.Â

Madisyn Carter added another season best to the Spiders team in the 100 fly, finishing sixth (58.54).Â

In the IM, Amare finished second (4:24.01), Chignell finished fifth (4:32.70) and Davis finished sixth (4:33.09).
In the 400 free relay, the Spiders relay (A) finished second (3:30.01) and Richmond's other relay (B) finished in fourth (3:36.68).Â

The Spiders return to action on Thursday, November 21 for the Patriot Invite in Fairfax, Va. for three days of competition.Â
