Kurtz, Barber Lead Spiders at A-10 Championships

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. – The University of Richmond's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Atlantic 10 Championships at Pole Green Park this morning. The women finished 7th and the men finished 12th. Highlighting the day was senior Laurel Kurtz who earned First Team All-Atlantic 10.Â

Kurtz led the women, finishing in the top-ten with an 8th place finish and a personal best of 20:54.6.Â
Â
Junior Mollie Fenn followed, finishing 26th with a time of 21:29.1.

Freshman Hallie Muniz also achieved a personal best, placing 61st with a time of 22:06.2. Junior Paige Joyce finished 64th in 22:08.5, while Brooke Reif (67th, 22:11.9) and freshman Avery Beike (70th, 22:14.2) rounded out the teams finish.

For the men, freshman Brady Barber led the way finishing at a personal best 25:07.1 to place 47th. Barber finished in the top eight among the freshman in today's race.Â

Junior Henry Haase placed 58th with a time of 25:20.2, followed by sophomore Eric Scully in 76th (25:36.4), junior William Marhold in 87th (25:48.4) and sophomore Josh Gray finished 103rd (26:08.7).
Up next for the Spiders is the NCAA Southeast Regional set for Friday, November 15 in Rock Hill, S.C.Â
