
Spiders Conclude 2024 Season Sunday Afternoon at Home

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's soccer team fell to La Salle 2-0 in its final home game of the season Sunday afternoon at President's Field. The Spiders conclude their 2024 campaign with a 4-10-3 overall record and a 2-7-1 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play, while the Explorers finished their season at 8-5-5 overall and 3-4-3 in conference.
Goals
The match remained scoreless in the first half despite La Salle's offensive efforts, tallying 11 shots compared to Richmond's three. Emma Roesing had looks in the eighth minute and 15th minute while Kingsley Hughes had the final shot in the half in the 42nd minute. Richmond was unable to capitalize on the chances and went into the break scoreless.
La Salle broke through in the 52nd minute after a scramble inside the Spider box. The Explorers doubled their lead nine minutes later after an Explorer redirected a cross past spider keeper McKenna Dalfsonso. After the two goals, Grace Ferrara was able to create a chance in the 70th minute but would go over the goal. Avery Nam followed the play with a dangerous look in the 74th minute but was collected by the La Salle keeper. Richmond wouldn't be able to create another chance in the half as the Spiders dropped the match 2-0.

Notes on the Game
