
Brandon Hodgins Named Associate AD For Development

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond Vice President and Director of Athletics, John P. Hardt has announced the hiring of Brandon Hodgins as the new Associate Athletics Director for Development. Hodgins will lead the Spider Athletic Fund that has posted consecutive years of record-breaking years in annual giving.
"We are excited to have Brandon join our staff and head the Spider Athletic Fund," Hardt said. "His extensive experience at the collegiate level in development will help the SAF continue its growth and guide us into our future endeavors. The Spider Athletic Fund plays a vital role supporting our commitment to the student-athlete experience."
Hodgins brings 10 years of collegiate experience to the Spiders working in development and annual giving. He spent five years at Syracuse (2018-22) as the Director of Development, and a member of a record-breaking fundraising team that raised $40 million. He managed the overall execution of the annual fund responsible for 11,000 donors.
In his role, the team achieved record levels of support. Most notably, he strategically implemented and managed the given society consisting of $5.8 million in new unrestricted funding in fiscal year 2022, a 429% increase from 2019. He directed all efforts of the $7.9 million seat-related giving and the Donor Rank system for Syracuse.
Hodgins spent three years (2016-18) at the University of Missouri as the Director of Development – Major Gifts. He was a member of a highly productive fundraising team that raised a record $50.4 million in total for the 2017 fiscal year.
He was responsible for closing a seven-figure commitment totaling one million dollars in unrestricted scholarship support and facility renovations. He also served as a facilitator for the Tiger Leadership Institute, working directly with coaches and mental performance staff to mentor student-athletes on developing leadership styles.
Hodgins spent two years at Western Carolina as the Assistant Director of the Catamount Club. He managed a portfolio of 350 donors, contributing $1.1 million in scholarship support. He spent 2014-15 as the Athletic Development Assistant at NC State Wolfpack Club, working with the Football Lifetime Right seats and the Championship Commitment campaign.
Hodgins currently works as the Senior Director of Development at the YMCA of Greater Richmond. He is directing the 2022 annual giving efforts and is leading the team responsible for the $3 million Chester YMCA capital campaign.
Hodgins earned his Bachelor of Science degree at SUNY Buffalo State in 2012 and was a member of the football team. He earned his Masters of Education in Sport Leadership at VCU in 2014, working as a graduate assistant at with the Ram Athletic Fund.
Hodgins currently lives in Midlothian with his wife Traci and their newborn daughter, Tessa.
