Salemyr Picks Up Singles Win in Loss to GW

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team traveled to Atlantic 10 opponent George Washington Saturday afternoon where the Spiders dropped a tough match to the Colonials, 4-1.

In doubles action, the duo of Emily Dunbar and Sara Salemyr was tied at 5-5 on court one before GW clinched the doubles point with wins on courts two and three.

Salemyr went on to earn Richmond's lone singles win of the day, defeating Lindsay Thompson in a three-set thriller on court four by a score of 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.

The Spiders return to action next weekend when they travel to Philadelphia for matches against Saint Joseph's and Rhode Island on Friday and Saturday.
