Spiders Fall at College of Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Richmond Spiders fell 5-0 Friday afternoon at College of Charleston to wrap up their Spring Break trip on the coast.
"Today was a tough loss, but our doubles are still strong and our intensity in singles has been impressive," said head coach Mark Wesselink. "Despite the loss, our team is staying positive. We know we're getting better with every match."
The duo of Emily Dunbar and Sara Salemyr fought to a tie breaker at No. 1 doubles, as did Marta Buendia in singles play on court five.
Helene Heiberg had forced a third set at No. 3 singles before Charleston clinched the match, leaving Heiberg's match unfinished.
The Spiders are back in action Friday, March 25 when they host Atlantic 10 opponent George Mason at the Westhampton Tennis Complex beginning at 2 p.m.
