NORFOLK, Va.- The Spider women's tennis team fell to Old Dominion 7-0 on Saturday.
"We are building a lot of character through this tough stretch," said head coach Mark Wesselink. " We are in most of the matches but struggling to convert on the big points. Some of that is youth and confidence and some of it is the quality of the opponents on our schedule."
Old Dominion set the tone during doubles point, winning all three matches.
In singles play Elizabeth battled to three sets against Juliana Pires. Sims lost the first set 6-4, but fought back to take the second set 3-6. She fell in the third set 10-8.
"It was good to have Elizabeth Sims back on the court," said Wesselink. "She was two points from a win."
The Spiders are back on the courts tomorrow in College Park, Maryland for a match against the ACC's Maryland.
