"Belmont is a tough team to defend," Richmond head coach Chris Mooney said. "They are always moving and shoot the ball well. I didn't expect that we would be able to hold them to 61 points."
Richmond improved to 15-2 in regular-season tournament play over the last five years. The Spiders take a game off from the Hall of Fame Tipoff, hosting Minnesota on Saturday at 7 p.m. It will mark the first time that Richmond has hosted a Big Ten opponent.
The Spiders' four-game homestand concludes with a match-up with Hofstra in the Hall of Fame Tipoff on Tuesday in the Robins Center, before heading to the Mohegan Sun Casino in Montville, Conn. To play North Carolina on Nov. 23.
