Wo Men's Tennis Stomp out Fordham Rams

The Richmond Women's Tennis team continues the momentum, defeating Fordham University 5-2 on Friday.
The Spiders were quick to earn the point, sweeping in doubles action. Joanna Matuszczyk and Melissa Kandinata shut out their opponents, 8-0, while Helen Cunningham and Alexandra Smyth fought to the end to earn the win, 8-7. Elizabeth Sims and Nil Horoz defeated Fordham's Julie Leong and Hanna Fritzinger, 8-4 to complete the sweep.
Freshman Melissa Kandinata earned a point by defeating Fordham's Sarah Ali, 6-1, 6-3 in singles play. Meanwhile junior Alexandra Smyth picked up a pair of 6-3 wins over Angelika Dabu. Senior Joanna Matuszczyk defeated her opponent 6-4 and 6-2. Sophomore Elizabeth Sims earned quality wins over her opponent with a single set of 6-3, 6-1.
The Spiders return to action on February 11th against the University of Pennsylvania.
