Women's Tennis Sweeps Weekend Action

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -
The Richmond women's tennis team recorded two key wins over conference-foe Temple and Penn over the weekend.
"The team stepped up under pressure and played their best when it counted," said head coach Mark Wesselink. "I couldn't be happier for all of them and this reward for their hard work."
Richmond nipped Temple, who was chosen to finish third in the A-10, by a 4-3 count Saturday.
Richmond's solid play in singles won the match, with wins at all spots but No. 3 and 4.
The victory over Penn was especially impressive as it snapped a three-game home win streak for the Quakers.
"Everyone contributed or we could not have won either match," said Wesselink. "Helen Cunningham's third set win in the deciding match against Temple was especially impressive given the importance of our A-10 seeding."
