CHARLESTON, S.C. -
The Richmond women's tennis team fell to Davidson 5-2 Sunday afternoon in Charleston, S.C.
"Davidson's senior-laden team showed their experience and match toughness today," said head coach Mark Wesselink. "The doubles were all well played and close. With the injury to Cunningham (ankle sprain) we had to improvise at number one and three and both teams responded to the new combinations with aggressive and smart play. Kelly Tidwell, stepping up to #2, dictated her match some precision groundstrokes. She is a definite bright spot for us right now. We're a little banged up right now but getting through this should pay dividends down the road."
The Spiders play two more matches in Charleston with Charlotte Tuesday and College of Charleston Thursday.
