Pittsburgh, Pa. - Richmond's (9-3-1) three-game winning streak was snapped as they fell to the Duquesne Dukes (5-3-2) Friday night. The loss is just the Spiders' third this season.
The game was scoreless until the Dukes scored consecutive goals in the 65th, 80th and 81st minute. Richmond answered with a Sarah Hilt penalty kick at the 82nd minute. Hilt's goal total moves to four on the season.
"We didn't generate the intensity that we're used to generating," head coach Peter Albright said. "We had a lot of chances in the first half to put the game away and we didn't. Duquesne played hard. We have to pick ourselves up and get ready for St. Bonaventure."
Richmond outshot the Dukes 13-7, while each team recorded four corner kicks apiece.
The Spiders continue their road play versus St. Bonaventure Sunday afternoon. Kick-off is slated for 12:00 p.m.
