
Women's Tennis Tops Longwood 5-2 For Sixth-Straight Win

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond women's tennis team topped the Longwood Lancers 5-2 on Thursday afternoon in Richmond, Va., notching its sixth-straight win of the season.
Pamela Duran and Ashlee Vosters overpowered the no. 2 doubles spot with an 8-1 win, notching the duo's 11th-straight victory at second doubles. Although Robin Carter and Beatrice fell just short in the battle at first doubles, Xenia Schneider and Jessica Hubbard paired up for a win a third doubles to secure the doubles point for Richmond.
The Spiders continued their winning ways into singles action, with #83 Duran leading the way at the no. 1 spot, earning a win over Longwood's Romana Bucar for her fifth-straight singles win. Senior Grasu followed with a straight-set senior-day win at the 3 spots, while Vosters and Schneider secured the win for the Spiders earning wins at the no. 4 and 5 spots, respectively. Vosters win marked her sixth-straight win in singles action.
The Spiders (6-6) will make up a match at William & Mary this Saturday at 4:00 p.m., their final run on the court before heading to the A-10 Championships next weekend, April 20-22.
