UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 25 Virginia on Friday night at the Country Club of Virginia. Richmond sophomore Pamela Duran earned the Spiders' only win on the night at No. 1 singles.
"We competed well against a Top 25 team, but we expect more from ourselves," stated Richmond head coach Mark Wesselink. "I think you will see this group raise their game in the next match. We knew our indoor schedule was going to be tough but these are the matches that make us better."
"Pamela Duran is playing beautiful tennis. She is doing a nice job of figuring out her opponents and exploiting their weaknesses."
