
Women's Tennis Wins Third-Straight Match

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's tennis team made its second 7-0 sweep over a team in as many days on Sunday afternoon on the University of Richmond campus, earning its third-straight win and its seventh win in the last eight matches. The Spiders improve to 8-6 on the year with the win.
Richmond's Jessica Hubbard paired up at the No. 1 doubles spot to take down Bucknell's Veronica Brown and Paulina Gamboa, while both the Beatrice Grasu/Robin Carter duo and the Pamela Duran/Ashlee Vosters duo played solid tennis, earning wins at No. 2 and 3 to secure the doubles point for the Spiders.
The Spiders then continued their winning ways into singles' action where they swept all matches. Grasu led the Spiders at the No. 1 spot with a win over Brown and Carter followed with a victory over Mills at the No. 2 position. Wolfgram, Xenia Schneider, and Hubbard breezed by their opponents with 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 3, 5, and 6, respectively, while Vosters earned a win at No. 4 as the Spiders ended with a 6-0 advantage in singles action.
The Spiders return to action next Saturday, March 25 at noon for a conference match with the Temple Owls on the University of Richmond campus.
