UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond women's tennis team earned its second straight win today as it defeated George Mason 6-1 this afternoon at the UR Tennis Complex. The Spiders improve to 8-7 while the Patriots fall to 4-8.
Richmond took an early lead after capturing the doubles point as the 40th-ranked pair of senior Lindsay Cox and junior Meghan Wolfgram captured their eighth consecutive victory with a convincing 8-0 shutout.
In singles action, the Spiders earned four wins in straight sets before the #5 match was retired due to the injury of a George Mason player.
