Women's Soccer Falls to George Washington 2-1

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington (3-3-2, 1-0) women's soccer team used two goals from junior Ina Kain to defeat the University of Richmond 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in both team's first conference game of the season at the Mt. Vernon Athletic Complex.
With the game tied 1-1 early in the second-half, sophomore Christine Jodri placed a perfect pass to Kain who was cutting in front of the Spiders' (2-4-1, 0-1) goal and knocked it right by the Richmond goalkeeper to put the Colonials ahead for good 2-1.
The Spiders took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute when sophomore Kelsey Blank scored on an assist from senior Olina Vidardottir.
GW tied the score when Kain converted on a penalty shot during the game's 37th minute. Kain was fouled attempting to shoot right in front of Richmond's net and was awarded the free kick.
Kain's goals were her first two of the season.
Senior Megan Cox started in net for Richmond and was replaced in the second-half by junior Kelly Kolker. Each player allowed a goal.
