
Women's Soccer Battles Seton Hall to 1-1 Tie

RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Meghan Ogilvie scored in the 30th minute to lead the University of Richmond women's soccer team to a 1-1 tie against Seton Hall today in the final game of the VCU/Eurosport Invitational. With the tie, the Spiders move to 1-3-1 on the season while Seton Hall's record changes to 3-1-2.
The Pirates held a 1-0 lead after sophomore Katie Pfister's 30-yard shot flew past the fingertips of Richmond goalkeeper Megan Cox into the upper right corner of the net.
Richmond evened the score at the 30:20 point off Ogilvie's header from a corner kick. Junior Annette Isham assisted on the goal.
Cox recorded ten saves in the goal while Seton Hall's Amanda Becker made nine saves.
The Spiders outshot the Pirates 23-13, including 13 attempts in the second half. Richmond also held a 10-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Junior Hillary Prince and freshman Carrie Holland were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Spiders host nationally-ranked University of Tennessee on Thursday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m.
