WASHINGTON, DC - Senior goalkeeper Megan Cox (Raleigh N.C.) recorded her first shutout in the 0-0 tie with George Washington today in the Atlantic 10 opener.
The two Atlantic 10 rivals battled for 110 minutes but neither team could finish a goal resulting in 0-0 draw. Cox recorded four saves in her perfect match and now has 37 on the season. Richmond out shot the Colonials in all but the second period 15-25.
George Washington's record is now 5-1-2, while Richmond is 1-4-2 this season. The Spiders will face Virginia at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29th at First Market Stadium.
