HARRISONBURG, Va.- James Madison posted a 1-0 win over Richmond in women's soccer action on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Spiders fall to 2-4-0 on the season.
In the 29th minute, dukes sophomore Abby Karpinski served a ball from near the right touchline to Teri Joyce, who beat Spiders goalkeeper Kristen Samuhel with a low shot to the far left corner from nine yards for the game-winning score.
The Spiders out shot JMU (4-4-1), 15-14 but only managed one shot on goal in the contest. Samuhel was credited with five saves.
Richmond entertains Dayton on Friday, October 5. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at First Market Stadium.
