- Dance Team Coach
Leigh Lowery serves as the head coach of the University of Richmond Dance Team. A lifelong dancer, Leigh began dancing at age three and is a 2002 graduate of James Madison University, where she was a member of the JMU Dukettes. Her dance experience also includes performing at Kings Dominion, teaching at several Richmond-area studios, and choreographing for a concert featuring a Grammy-winning Richmond-native artist. She currently teaches jazz and hip hop at The House in Richmond.
As head coach, Leigh is focused on helping the team grow as performers while building a close-knit culture rooted in friendship, support, and Spider pride. She also looks forward to creating more opportunities for the team to perform at University and community events.
Outside of dance, Leigh is a Quality Assurance Manager at Sentara Health Plans. She is married and has a son, and enjoys reading, reality TV, game nights, sushi, laughing with friends and family, and, of course, dancing.
