Errin Stanton enters his fourth season as Assistant Coach for the Richmond women’s soccer program in 2026.
In his third year with the Spiders, Stanton continued to elevate Richmond’s goalkeeping and defensive units, helping the program produce one of the Atlantic 10’s top statistical seasons in net. Under his guidance, Richmond finished second in the conference in save percentage (.841) and sixth in shutout percentage during the 2025 campaign. The Spiders recorded six clean sheets, while sophomore keeper Veronica Rrapi ranked among the league leaders with 84 total saves and a .857 save percentage while playing 1,440 minutes. Stanton’s development of the position also contributed to multiple A-10 weekly honors, including Rookie of the Week recognition for Rrapi and newcomer Isabel Seifert earning her first collegiate start at Queens on Sept. 7.
Richmond opened the 2025 season with a 5-0 win over VMI, the program’s largest season-opening margin of victory since 2010, and earned results in three of its first four matches. Stanton’s work with the goalkeeping corps and back line played a central role in several low-scoring draws and defensive stands throughout conference play.
In 2024, his second season on staff, Stanton helped Richmond to its best start since 2008 (2-0-1), a four-shutout campaign, and the program’s highest season goal total since 2021. His goalkeeping unit combined for 85 saves, including a pair of 10-save performances that anchored the Spiders during tightly contested stretches of the season.
Stanton joined the Richmond coaching staff following a four-year tenure as goalkeeper coach at Davidson College. In 2022, he helped guide the Wildcats to a 13-3-4 season, a 5-2-3 mark in conference play, and a first-round Atlantic 10 Tournament victory over Duquesne.
A native of Tinton Falls, N.J., Stanton was a standout goalkeeper at Pfeiffer University, where he earned All-Region Honorable Mention, two All-CVAC accolades and First Team All-Defensive honors. A four-year starter, he went on to play professionally in the USL (D3), A-League and MLS levels.
Stanton brings coaching experience across multiple levels, having trained teams and goalkeepers in high school, elite club and semi-professional environments.
He earned his degree in criminal justice from Pfeiffer in 1998.
