Chris Williams joined the Richmond Athletics Department as the Director of Equipment Operations in January of 2020. He has over 20 years of experience working in equipment operations at an NCAA collegiate level.
Williams joined the Spiders after spending three years at The Darlington School as the Director of Operations Coosa Junior Golf Academy. He spent eight years at The Collegiate School in Richmond as the Uniform and Equipment Coordinator. He was in charge of all equipment for the athletic programs at Collegiate and administered the athletic facilities.
While at Collegiate, Williams spent time as a coach working with various programs including middle school girls basketball and high school golf. He led Collegiate the the program's first-ever State Championship in 2012 and was named the VISAA Coach of the Year.
Williams spent eight years as a Regional Sales Rep for Riddell/All-American, working with 150 schools and organizations in Virginia and North Carolina.
Williams spent 11 years at he University of Memphis, working from 1990-92 as the Assistant Equipment Manager before being promoted to Head Equipment Manager from 1992-2001. He was responsible for all 17 teams at Memphis and traveled with both football and men's basketball teams.
Williams graduated from Memphis in 1998 with a degree in Physical Education - Fitness Management.
