Keelyn Harkey joined Richmond as an Assistant Director of Athletics Public Relations in January 2023 and serves as the primary contact for women’s basketball, women’s soccer and men’s and women’s tennis.
Prior to Richmond, Harkey spent a year-and-a-half working as an Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant at Valdosta State University, overseeing communications for volleyball, cross country, men’s basketball and softball with secondary responsibilities for women’s soccer, football, women’s basketball and men’s and women’s tennis. He aided in communications for the Blazer Football team’s NCAA DII National Championship runner-up season in 2021, the women’s basketball Elite Eight appearance in 2022, and the 2022 NCAA South Region Championship for softball.
Harkey is a 2021 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where he served as an athletic communications intern for a year, having communications roles with the Sooner men’s and women’s basketball teams, the 2021 National Championship softball team and the track and field teams.

Harkey holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism with a minor in sports management from OU and received his Master of Arts in communications from Valdosta State In May 2023.
A native of Atoka, Okla., Harkey currently resides in Midlothian, Va.
